An arrest has been made for the armed robbery of an Athens man’s disability money five months ago.
Aselann Dayorian McWhorter, 19, of Colbert was booked Tuesday into the county jail on warrants charging him with aggravated assault and armed robbery.
According to Athens-Clarke County police, a 60-year-old man on Dec. 2 reported that he was walking from his home on Eastwood Terrace to go cash his disability check at a package store on Nellie B Avenue when his nephew ran after him to say that “a guy he was hanging out with” would drive him there.
That person, later identified as McWhorter, then drove the victim and his nephew to the store where the check was cashed and a purchase was made.
The victim told police that he was beginning to walk home when his nephew said that McWhorter would drive him, and he accepted the offer.
However, McWhorter allegedly pulled his car into the empty parking lot of the nearby Living Waters Christian Fellowship Church where he pointed a gun at the victim and demanded all of his money, then drove away with $831 and the victim’s nephew still in the car.
The investigation that ensued reportedly included doorbell video footage of McWhorter hanging out on Eastwood Terrace prior to the incident.
As of Wednesday afternoon, McWhorter was being held at the jail without bail being set.
why are all the gang members transing to female?
OK, so my eye-for-an-eye doctrine gets sorta tough here. But if ole Aselann is tried and found guilty, apparently we need to make him disabled before we take away all his livlihood and lock him up for 19 years. 19 Years means that when he is released, half his life would have been as a free man, and the other half of his life would be as a prisoner. As to making him disabled..... kneecap him now.
What about the nephew?
