Victim extricated from car, utility pole catches fire after cars crash on Athena Drive

The following is from ACCPD Lt. Katie Jenkins, we are awaiting additional info from the fire department:

ACCPD responded to the 600 block of Athens Dr at approximately 6:30AM this morning in reference to vehicle striking a telephone pole. The pole caught on fire (it is believed to be from a blown transformer). Another vehicle was involved and located nearby in the wood line. It appears that the driver of this vehicle was entrapped. Fire responded and extricated the driver. At the time, it appears that both drivers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.  I am not clear on any further at this time but that gives you a bit of idea of what was going on.
