Athens police arrested an alleged drug trafficker after finding over two pounds of cocaine at different residences he maintained in the county.
Dextrell Callaway, 55, was charged with trafficking cocaine and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
The arrest resulted from searches by the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force at residences Callaway maintained on Mitchell Bridge Road and Cross Creek Place.

He was taken into custody at the Mitchell Bridge Road location, where he was found in possession of a kilogram of cocaine, or 2.2 pounds.
When executing search warrants, task force officers found manufacturing materials for the purpose of making, packaging, and distributing cocaine in addition to other controlled substances.
According to the Georgia Department of Corrections, Callaway has served two terms in prison for convictions on charges of aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
