Authorities continue to investigate the weekend death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found in his home in the Athens Gardens neighborhood.

Thomas Lamar Carter was found dead Sunday afternoon in the living room of his apartment on Coleridge Court within the eastside apartment complex

” I spoke with detectives, and they advised at this time the death does not appear to be a homicide,” said police spokesperson Lt. Katie Jenkins. “but it is still an active investigation and that the autopsy has not been performed as of yet.”

Carter was last seen alive by neighbors on the evening of January 10 when he used their phone to call the police.

911 records indicate that he had called to report two people at his apartment “who should not be there.”

The neighbors gave police the name of a man with whom Carter had been fighting, telling the police the man “was mad at Carter after the fight.”

A police report noted that the apartment’s back door was unlocked and handprints were on an open window as though someone had pushed it up in order to get into the apartment.

A tire iron was found under a couch next to Carter’s body.

And it doesn’t appear to be a homicide? It seems ALL signs point to it being one.

Rap music that glorifies violence, drugs and lawlessness killed him. He probably started listening to the rap music in his momma's womb. It's dangerous to be a gangsta.

Or, maybe it was a white supremacy that got him?
