Tim Gailey poses with Sheriff Ira Edwards Jr. at the deputy's retirement luncheon

A deputy recently retired after 33 years of service with the Clarke County Sheriff's Office.

Tim Gailey, who retired with the rank of lieutenant, was honored at luncheon held on Monday at the sheriff's office.

"He has led a robust career working inside the jail, field section, and court section," the sheriff's office said in a release. "Lieutenant Gailey will be remembered as a Clarke County Deputy Sheriff having utmost integrity, dedication, and loyalty to this agency and servicing the community as he did. We will miss Lieutenant Gailey’s daily presence, but wish him the best on his next walk in life."
