Capt. Hayden Hodges recently retired from the Clarke County Sheriff's after 30 years of service.

"He has led a robust career working inside the jail, jail administration, and court administration," Sheriff Ira Edwards said in a news release.

"Capt. Hodges will be remembered as a Clarke County deputy sheriff who had extreme integrity, dedication, loyalty to this agency and in serving the community," the sheriff said. "We will miss Capt. Hodges' daily presence, but wish him the best on his next walk in life."

The Sheriff's Office honored Hodges on July 11 during a retirement ceremony and reception at the Athens-Clarke County Courthoue.
