VIDEO: DA candidates Gonzalez and Yalamanchili square off in first of two debates

Incumbent District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez and challenger Kalki Yalamanchili on Tuesday participated in the first of two agreed-upon debates leading up to Election Day on November 5.

The debate took place at Hill Chapel Baptist Church and was sponsored by the Western Judicial Circuit Bar Association.

It was recorded and posted to YouTube by Athens Politics Nerd Chris Dowd.

The candidates are scheduled to debate again on October 22 at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, in a forum to be presented by the Athens Classic Inc. public policy group.
