Deadly fire in Jackson County

Fatal Residential Fire: North Jackson Fire Department along with Mutual Aid units from West Jackson Fire and the Jackson County Correctional Fire Department responded to a structure fire with entrapments at approximately 3:45AM at a Park St address in the city of Pendergrass.

Units arrived to find heavy fire and multiple victims, Crews from North Jackson and West Jackson performed a search of the residence and rescued one victim from inside the structure.

There was one confirmed fatality and two other victims were transported by Jackson County EMS for burns.

The Georgia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
