Authorities are investigating a fire that destroyed a house in Oconee County Friday morning.
The lone resident who was home at the time reportedly got out without any injuries.
Oconee County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the house at 1010 Rocky Branch Road when receiving a 10:22 a.m. fire call and upon arrival they found that half of the dwelling was in flames.
Fire Chief Bruce Thaxton said the house was a total loss.
The cause of the blaze was unknown, he said, and it’s being investigated by the Georgia Fire Marshal’s Office and Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.
