Hinesville Senior Firefighter Chandler Kuhbander has returned home. His body and that of Hinesville fire Lt. Reagan Anderson were found in Cocke County, Tennessee a little over a week ago. The pair had recently broken off a romantic relationship and were last seen on June 25.
Anderson and Kuhbander had dated for seven years, since they were in high school, Kuhbander’s parents told local WJCL."I'm so scared," Jane Kuhbander, Chandler’s mother, told the outlet amid the search for her son and his girlfriend. "I just want them home."
Kuhbander’s mother told WJCL that she last spoke to her son when he told her that Anderson had been continuously calling him and threatening herself.
"He was telling me she was blowing up his phone, and he said that she had threatened that she was going to commit suicide," Kuhbander’s mother told the outlet. "And, it's not the first time that she's done it."
On June 22, Anderson was arrested after she vandalized Kuhbander’s car by keying it while he was on a date with another woman.
Authorities have not released information concerning what happened between the time the pair went missing time and their bodies were discovered.
According to a Facebook post by Jane Kuhbander, her son’s body was escorted from the Tennessee border to their home in Hinesville.
She commented that they wanted to keep the return close and quiet.
“It was close local friends and family, the Liberty County fire services, veteran enforcers, motorcycle association, special people who worked closely on this case, Hinesville Police Dept., Savannah Harley Davidson friends,” the social media post said.
In her comment Kuhbander thanked the public for their kindness throughout the ordeal.
As for explanations for what happened and why she commented, “yes he was brought home smaller, and no we do not have all the answers,” adding that what information the family did have, they were not ready to publicly share it.
