Firefighters on scene of grass fires along Athens Perimeter

The police department is cautioning motorists to be aware of firefighters who are currently working to contain grass fires along the Athens Perimeter.

The fires are located at both the inner and outer loops of the highway near the exit for Tallassee Road and Oglethorpe Avenue.

An alert was issued at 4:32 p.m. by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department that advises people to drive with caution.
