I believe I’m on solid ground when I say most parents would do anything for their children.
Joe Biden is a father and he saw an opportunity to keep his son out of prison. He did it to the detriment of his legacy. He did it in the face of assured criticism.
According to news reports, Hunter Biden faced up to 17 years in prison, but would likely have served 3 years.
If my son were in the same position, and if I were President, I would be hard-pressed not to do the same thing.
While the timing is suspicious, it’s logical. His candidacy, and Harris’ candidacy, would have been severely damaged had he pardoned Hunter earlier.
That’s politics manifested in its usual manipulative and disingenuous way.
My only criticism is President Biden should never have offered a Trump-like excuse, claiming in his White House statement that Hunter “was selectively, and unfairly, prosecuted.”
“He’s my kid.” Enough said.
