The body of a murder victim that was dumped on a side road in Jefferson has been identified as that of a teen from Hall County.
Jefferson Police Chief Joe Wirthman said that the body of 19-year-old Joshua Wick was found Friday afternoon by a motorist who was driving on Holders Siding Road, a side road off of the Jefferson Bypass.
Investigators determined that Wick had been killed somewhere else before his body was dumped on the Jefferson roadway, according to Wirthman.
The police chief said there were obvious evidence of physical trauma to the victim's body, but he would not disclose the cause of death.
Wirthman said he requested assistance in the homicide probe from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
