A pair of University of Georgia students were recently robbed at gunpoint inside their apartment in downtown Athens by a group of juveniles and adults.
The only thing reported to have been stolen from the apartment in the 100 block of East Clayton Street was an Xbox video game console.
The incident occurred early the morning of October 26.
According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, officers responded to the students’ apartment at approximately 1:37 a.m.
“Officers searched the area and located four suspects who were taken into custody,” said Lt. Katie Jenkins, public information officer for ACCPD. “Two pistols were recovered.”
The suspects were all charged with armed robbery and first-degree burglary.
They were identified as Martavious Desmones Robinson, 23, of Rayle; Teyon Lavon Tate, 21, of Washington; Zion Lowery, 17, of Spring Valley Road; and Khalia Chantice Woods, 17, of Towne View Place.
The incident continues to be investigated and police asked for anyone with information to contact Detective David Harrison at David.Harrison@accgov.com.
