An Oglethorpe County man has been charged with murder for the overdose death last summer of a man in Madison County.
Charles Angelo Barrett, 32, of Arnoldsville was arrested last week for the death of 37-year-old Tyson Haley, who died from a methadone overdose in August at his home on Country Lane in Danielsville.
“Investigators were able to identify Barrett as the person who sold the victim methadone the day before his death,” said Capt. Jimmy Patton of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office. “It took some time for the autopsy and toxicology results to come in, and after consultation with the DA the decision was made to charge him with murder.”
Barrett was being held in pretrial detention pending a bail hearing.
