Things will almost be back in normal Tuesday for workers and visitors at the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse, after having been closed for nearly a week because of bedbug infestation.
Last week Western Judicial Circuit Chief Judge Eric Norris declared a judicial emergency that closed the East Washington Street building from Wednesday through the weekend.
That was so exterminators could work to rid all areas of the courthouse of the bedbugs,
After assessing the progress made by exterminators, County officials and Judge Norris lifted nearly the entire order from last week,
On Tuesday, Municipal Court on the first floor will continued to be closed, with limited access to offices.
After the pause, trials and grand juries are now set to resume, and office of the Clerk of Superior and State courts will again be open to employees and the public.
Probate Court also will be open on Tuesday.
