Myositis Comes Alive

At his recent induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Peter Frampton helped create awareness of the rare autoimmune disease that afflicts him and me both: Myositis.

The disease attacks the muscles, and It’s weakened Peter’s legs to the point he was forced to stop touring. When he does perform, like during October’s induction ceremony, he does it sitting down.

The guitar legend behind the monster Frampton Comes Alive record-breaking double album showed a national audience that he still retains singing chops and continues to shred the guitar.

For me, the disease has greatly impaired my ability to speak clearly. Therefore, when reporting stories for Classic City News I’m not able to conduct interviews verbally anymore and must communicate via text and email.

The brain tumor had already weakened the left side of my body and the Myositis has exacerbated things to where I can hardly grasp things without dropping them and walking has a much more complicated challenge.
