A Clarke County grand jury has indicted a man and woman with assault for allegedly beating a resident of an Athens homeless camp with a tent pole and pipe last month.
Brandon Stephen Williams, 34, and Tandy Telki Tucker, 47, were each charged with aggravated assault and making terroristic threats, according to the indictment filed in Superior Court on February 25.


According to police reports and court documents, the incident occurred on the morning of January 15 at the camp located in the woods near Dollar General on Jefferson Road.
The defendants reportedly accused the 39-year-old victim of stealing from them and threatened her kill her. During the alleged assault Williams used a tent pole to hit the victim and Tucker used a metal pipe.
The defendants are being held in pretrial detention without bail pending their March 12 arraignment.
