A 28-year-old Wynter Court resident recently went to visit his girlfriend at North Grove Apartments but instead wound up the victim of an armed robbery.

The alleged victim reported to police that on February 21 he arrived at the complex on Old Hull Road at 12:15 a.m., and as he entered the breezeway outside of his girlfriend’s home he was confronted by a male who wore a full face mask and demanded money from him.

He surrendered the cash because, he told police, “$1,000 was not worth dying for.”

The alleged victim waited until Feb. 28 to report the incident because he had first wanted to try and figure out the identity of the robber on his own, according to police.

He “concluded on this date that he should have a report made so that there is a paper trail in the event this happens again and he retaliates,” police said.
