School district holding Job Shadow Program Day

The Clarke County School District has released the following:

We are excited to announce that the Clarke County School District (CCSD) will be hosting its 2nd annual Job Shadow Program Day on April 29, 2025. CCSD has partnered with the Northeast Black Georgia Chamber of Commerce, Economic Justice Coalition and the Athens Area Chamber of Commerce to make this happen. This event is a fantastic opportunity for students enrolled in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Programs to gain valuable exposure to real-world jobs in their chosen CTAE Pathways Program.

The Job Shadow Program Day aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and practical, hands-on experience. By participating in this program, students will have the chance to observe and interact with professionals in their field of interest, providing them with insights and inspiration for their future careers.

We believe that this initiative will not only benefit our students but also strengthen the connection between our schools and the local business community. There were several local businesses who initially committed to participate but due to CCSD transportation and on-site CCSD supervision restrictions, the list had to be reduced to accommodate but seek to expand next school year. We invite you to cover this event and help us spread the word about the positive impact it will have on our students and the community.
