Unlike most species of octopuses, California Two-Spot Octopuses prefer to live in shallow waters where they can quickly access the rocks and crevices found at the sandy bottom of the ocean and use them to hide.
Notably, these octopuses are relatively friendly creatures and are easily identifiable by the blue spots on either side of their heads.
