Science fact of the day: Rhinos use mud to regulate temperature

Rhinos can often be seen rolling in mud, much like pigs do.

Rhinos do this to give themselves a protective coat of mud, which helps them stay cool in the heat.

Rhinos also use mud to stop insects from biting their skin and to help get rid of parasites.
