Score Big with Your library card the entire month of September.
For this year’s Library Card Sign-Up Month, the Athens Regional Library System will be raffling off prize baskets at the end of September at each of its 11 locations. Dozens of local businesses have donated prizes and gift cards, and patrons can choose which prize basket they’d like to use their ticket for.
To earn a raffle ticket, patrons need only sign up for a library card or renew an expired one at their local library. Existing cardholders can earn a raffle ticket by inviting a friend to sign up for or renew a library card, or they can share a photo of the raffle on their social media story and show staff members.
A library card is useful for more than just checking out books and movies. You can use the Libby app to check out digital books and audiobooks right from your smartphone or e-reader. In the library, you can use our free wifi and computers, work on projects using the Adobe Suite and many other programs, find study rooms, and attend digital classes. A library card also gives you access to Ancestry.com resources, GALILEO, Consumer Reports, Mango Languages for learning a new language, NovelList, Gale LegalForms for step-by-step guides, Value Line stock market reports, Weiss Financial Ratings, Foundation Directory for grant funding, and much more. Library cards also give you access to check out passes for free admission to Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites, Zoo Atlanta, and more.
