Second pedestrian struck by car in eastside crosswalk has died

The second pedestrian who was struck by a car Friday night in east Athens has died.
The incident occurred at around 8:40 p.m. when the victims were crossing Gaines School Road in a crosswalk between the Citgo station and McDonald’s.
One of the victims died that night, and sources tell Classic City News that the second victim died today.
The Athens-Clarke County Police Department still has not released the victims names or other information about the tragedy, but CCN will continue working to get that to you.
