A second person has been charged with murder in connection with a drive by shooting earlier this month that targeted a party being held at a house near the University of Georgia campus.

Glendarius Jamius Tate, 20, of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway was arrested Wednesday night for his alleged involvement in the shooting on Northview Drive that claimed the life of 24-year-old Ja’ Vanni McDavid.

Anthony Quinn Brown, 19, of Magnolia Street, was previously charged with murder for the March 5 incident.

More than 40 gunshots reportedly were fired from a car at 136 Northview Drive where the party was being held and where McDavid was fatally injured.

Police said they were investigating the possibility that the shooting was gang related.

The crime scene is located just across the street from the UGA campus and the Foley Field baseball stadium, and in the shooting’s immediate aftermath the university's police department issued an electronic “timely warning” to alert members of the university community about a potential threat to their safety.

The investigation remains ongoing, and police asked for anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Detective Paul Johnson at 762-400-7060 or paul.johnson@accgov.com.

40 rounds fired at a house full of people one of whom was left in critical condition, fighting for life in the hospital before they ultimately died and all DA Gonzales charged the guy with originally was aggravated assault x1! Apparently in DA Gonzales's mind you can shoot at a crowd of people in Athens and as long as you don't hit anyone no crime has been committed. Also there is no such thing as attempted murder.

Tell me again how conservatives are unjustly attacking her...

I don't know if you know much about the judicial system but in this country the grand jury brings the charges not the da I admit that our da sucks but the problem lies not only with our da but are Judges as well because they ultimately have the power to veto any pleaders and to add additional charges to people and they're not doing their jobs all their worried about is getting done getting off and going to play golf with Gonzalez who they say that they hate or dinner parties whatever the hell the rich people do now

Another argument for gun control, as in hitting what you aim for rather than spray and pray while taking down an entire community. Untrained idiots should never be allowed to have guns. And people who are trained aren't the type to go around shooting other people anyway.

40 rounds included multiple shooters including McDavid who was shooting as well (according to the report). My guess.. 3 10 round magazines from one car and 1 10 round from McDavid. Who owned the property where this took place? Was McDavid just visiting? named renter?
