Sheriff’s deputy from Winterville arrested for home invasion

A sheriff’s deputy from Winterville has been arrested and charged in connection with a home invasion in Greene County.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, 29-year-old Joshua Wilson was arrested after being involved in a domestic violence incident in Greensboro.

Early on the morning of September 5, the GBI said, the Greene County deputies responded to McInteer Circle where Wilson illegally entered a home and fought with the residents.

Wilson at the time was a deputy with the Taliaferro County Sheriff’s Office and living in Winterville. He was off duty when the incident occurred.

He is charged with first-degree home invasion, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, family violence simple battery, obstruction of an emergency 911 call, and criminal damage to property.

An investigation is active and ongoing, and the GBI has asked for anyone with information to its regional investigative office in Milledgeville at 478-445-4173. Once the investigation is complete, the case file will be given to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Officefor prosecution.

Well look at that…another domestic abuser in the ranks of LEOs. This should not be shocking considering they make up about 40% of domestic violence offenders. This is another reason domestic abusers shouldn’t be allowed to legally carry weapons…for the rest of their lives.

40% of ALL domestic abusers are Police? I find that hard to believe. Where do you find those figures at?
