Trucker seriously injured when train slams into tractor trailer

A truck driver was seriously injured Sunday night when his tractor trailer was struck by a train in Madison County.

The incident happened at about 10 p.m. at Cooper Road and Highway 72 in Comer.

“All the information I have is that the truck driver was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries,” said Captain Jimmy Payton of the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.

Further questions were referred to the Georgia State Patrol.
