A University of Georgia student was arrested last week on charges that he raped a UGA freshman in a campus dormitory.
Theodore Bennett Angell, 18, of Smyrna, is charged with rape, sexual battery, and aggravated assault, according to arrest warrants obtained by the UGA Police Department.
He allegedly choked, slapped and bit the victim during the assault that reportedly occurred September 11 at Black-Diallo-Miller Hall on Baxter Street.
Angell was arrested November 5, and is being detained at the Clarke County Jail pending a bond hearing that is scheduled for November 20.
