A University of Georgia student was arrested last week after he ran from campus police into downtown Athens.

Robert Austin Zeller, 21, would later admit to police that he had behaved like “an idiot.”

The incident happened late the night of January 30 when UGA police officers patrolling the North Campus came upon the student urinating on the Holmes-Hunter Academic Building.

When the officers commanded Zeller to come to them and told him, “you are not free to go,” he took off running into the downtown area, where county police officers made the arrest.

EMS responded to the scene to check on Zeller, who was bleeding from the forehead, and injury sustained by “hitting his head on the steps outside of Kilwins Ice Cream” on East Broad Street.

He was charged with public indecency, obstruction, and public drunkenness.
