The University of Georgia student who was critically injured in the New Year’s Day terrorist attack in New Orleans took to social media to let everyone know that her condition is improving and to give thanks for the outpouring of support she has received.
Elle Eisele, a sophomore chemistry major UGA, was injured along with her friend from high school in Florida and when an ISIS sympathizer plowed his pickup truck through a crowd of people on Bourbon Street and engaged police officers in a shootout. Fourteen people were killed and 35 others were injured,
“With more gratitude than you can fathom, I wanted to let my friends and family know that I am fighting and I am healing. Most importantly I am alive and I am so thankful that God spared Steele and myself,” the student said on Instagram
Eisele expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received.
“I’m reading your messages and I’m thankful for your support and love and one day soon I’ll be replying to you!” Eisele said, and asking for continued prayers for all who survived the attack.
