Recently filed court documents show that an armed home invasion was triggered by a prank by University Georgia students at their apartment in downtown Athens.

The incident occurred early the morning of October 26.

According to the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, officers responded to the apartment on East Clayton Street at approximately 1:37 a.m. to investigate a reported armed home invasion robbery.

The students told police that several males had entered their apartment and at gunpoint stole an Xbox console.

From witness statements and video surveillance footage, police learned that the suspects had been among a group that had been on the sidewalk when they were showered upon with water from an apartment on the top floor,

Police identified and located four suspects who they identified as Martavious Desmones Robinson, 23, of Rayle; Teyon Lavon Tate, 21, of Washington; Zion Lowery, 17, of Spring Valley Road; and Khalia Chantice Woods, 17, of Towne View Place.

Two pistols were recovered from the suspects, each of whom was charged with armed robbery and first-degree burglary.
