Winder Police Spotlight: Officer Alexandria Hill Patrol Shift Supervisor

Name: Alexandria Hill -Patrol Shift Supervisor

How long have you worked in law enforcement? 4 years

What made you want to work for Winder PD? I started at another police department nearby and struggled with learning some of the necessary skills in the academy at first. I knew another Winder Officer who convinced me to apply here. Winder gave me a shot and I was able to really become more comfortable with the job and have developed my skills a lot more since then.

What is the most interesting part of your job?You never know what to expect. You go from helping a kid find his bicycle one minute to dealing with something no one should ever see the next such as a suicide or serious car accident. It is always interesting and never dull.

What is something most people wouldn’t know about you? I watch anime and have even been to an anime convention before.

What is your proudest accomplishment as a police officer? Earning Officer Of The Year in my first year was pretty amazing.

Best police training class you have ever taken? Officer Survival. It taught me to hone in on my shooting skills, especially while moving and to be more situationally aware.

What is your favorite movie? V for Vendetta

Who is your favorite singer/music artist?Halsey

What is your favorite quote or saying? “The only thing I know is that I know nothing.” - Socrates

Favorite subject/class in high school? English/Literature

If you had to be stuck in a patrol car for an entire shift with anyone at Winder PD, who would it be? Officer Maleski. He is a fun person to work with.
