A woman who was arrested three years ago for allegedly sex trafficking her young daughter has pleaded guilty a to less serious charge and was sentenced to probation.

Treemokneesha Brown, 36, was arrested in 2022 for allegedly allowing multiple men have sex with the 5-year-old girl at an Athens hotel. She also asexually assaulted her child with a Barbie doll, police had alleged.

A Clarke County Superior Court grand jury indicted the woman on two counts of trafficking persons for sexual servitude, three counts of child molestation, two counts of incest, and one count each of first-degree cruelty to children and aggravated sexual battery.

However, in a superseding accusation filed last Thursday Brown was charged only with second-pldegree cruelty to children for subjecting her daughter to “cruel physical and mental pain by neglectfully allowing men to have access said child and said men causing harm to said child.”

Brown was immediately sentenced to time already served in jail and five years of probation.

“The charging decision and sentence in the case reflect the evidence and what we believe we could prove,” explained Western Judicial Circuit District Attorney Kalki Yalamanchili.

A condition of probation is that Brown receive mental health evaluation and treatment. She cannot have any contact with her children unless authorized by the Department of Family and Children Services.
