A woman was seriously injured when an acquaintance attacked her with a golf club.
Tieleah Browner, 35, was at the University Oaks apartment of 66-year-old Webster Mason on the night of March 21 when they got into an argument about money she accused him of stealing, and he struck her forehead with the club, causing a large gash with avulsed flesh.
Drenched in blood, she crawled out into the courtyard where others saw her and called 911.
Mason claimed he inadvertently struck Browner’s head when using the golf club to knock a knife out of her hand.
When Browner was examined at the hospital, no evidence was found to support Mason’s claim that he’d struck her hand with the golf club.
Mason was arrested for aggravated assault and released from custody upon posting a $5,000 bond on March 27.
