An Athens man recently was arrested after he allegedly broke into the home of a former girlfriend and stripped naked as he waited for her to return.
The woman reported to police that on the night of Aug. 27, a male friend dropped her off at her home on Henderson Extension, and upon going inside she found Torian Quatum Gartrell sitting naked on a couch, partially covered by a blanket.
He reportedly said, “Baby, I’m sorry” and hurriedly pulled on his clothes upon seeing the woman’s male friend and ran from the scene as she called 911.
According to police, Gartrell is a former boyfriend who was supposed to stay away from the woman because of a court order stemming from a previous domestic violence arrest.
Police said they obtained warrants and on Sep. 1 arrested Gartrell on charges of violating a protective order, loitering/prowling, and public indecency.
He also was served with outstanding warrants that charged him with theft by receiving stolen property, obstruction of law enforcement, and previous incidents of loitering/prowling and violating a protective order.
As of Monday, Gartrell had yet to post bail and remained at the county jail.
